Perched on the edge of the Aravalli Hills, Nahargarh Fort (meaning “Abode of Tigers”) has stood as a protective shield for Jaipur for nearly 300 years. If you want to see the Pink City spread out beneath your feet like a map, this is the place to be.

Here is everything you need to know for your 2026 visit to this magical fort.

🚗 How to Reach Nahargarh

Getting to the fort is an adventure in itself, with winding roads offering stunning views.

The Walking Path: A 3–4 km uphill trek for those who enjoy hiking.

By Vehicle: You can take your personal vehicle (parking is available) or hire a rickshaw/taxi from the city center (about 6 km away).

Pro Tip: The road is shared with Jaigarh Fort, so you can easily plan to see both on the same day.

🕒 Timings & Entry Fees (2026)

Main Fort Timings: 10:00 AM to 5:30 PM.

Extended Hours: While the main structures close early, the fort precinct remains a popular spot until around 9:30 PM for sunset seekers.

Indians: ₹50 per person.

Students: ₹20 per person.

✨ Top Highlights

1. The Sunset Point: This is the most famous sunset location in Jaipur. Watching the sun dip behind the city skyline is a core memory for many travelers.

2. Madhavendra Bhawan: Built by Maharaja Sawai Madho Singh II, this palace features nine identical suites for his nine queens. The symmetrical design allowed the king to visit any queen without the others knowing—a masterpiece of architectural privacy!

3. Nahargarh Stepwell (Baori): Before the fort opens, take a moment to visit the ancient stepwell used for rainwater harvesting.

4. The Legend of Nahar Singh: Local lore says the fort was haunted by the spirit of Rathore Prince Nahar Singh, whose spirit disrupted construction until a temple was built in his honor within the fort walls.
